There are uninstall information files and executables too, that usually get stored in the game's directory.  I don't have CoD on my machine up here at work, and I imagine you'll have the problem solved by the time I get home, but if not I'll check and see what they are.

You should be able to bypass the splash screen installer dealie and just run the actual setup executable from the CD.  Those autorun things are always a pain, but happily one that I haven't had to bother with for years thanks to TweakUI's paranoia settings.

It isn't like it's any great badge of pride to "crack" Bubble Bomb anyway.  On a piracy difficulty scale, it probably ranks about a 1.

It was cracked by IPA, which is pretty much a bottom feeder in the warez world. According to NForce, they've released about all of two titles since. Basically the weakest kid in the schoolyard picking on the special needs student... in regards to copy protection, I mean.

Well, call me an idiot today, because this solved both my problems and I was overthinking the problem too much to even think of trying this. It worked, and now the game is reinstalled and patched. :P

I was so consumed with figuring out why the game was only giving me the Uninstall option that I assumed running setup directly wouldn't even work because my system still saw the game as installed. I still don't know what was causing it to do that, but it doesn't matter now.

CheesyPoof:
Caryn, not to be an asshole, but won't the devs be able to give you a quick answer?

My thinking was that a pool of many people here on the net who have a wide variety of tech backgrounds could more quickly help me solve what I was pretty sure was a general software issue and not a game-specific issue rather than asking one producer at Activision to help me troubleshoot it. Had I still had the issue with the patch not working, I would have gone to the producer and asked.

Besides, the institution of marriage is a beautiful and sacred thing, to be loved and cherished by not only the marrying couple but by everyone who bears witness to its majesty.  Well, except he got married in Romania and not Disneyworld, so that's one pretty major strike against him right the fuck there.  Ok, nevermind what I said.  Begin the pissing.

If I had to choose between the '80s classics "Beat Street" or "Breakin'" for a prestigious award, I'd probably have to go with the latter, since its sequel introduced the mind-shattering concept of marrying *electricity* with the boogaloo.

Someone explain those goddamn jesus fish to me so I can mock them better.

The earliest followers of Jesus were persecuted and forced to worship in secret locations. They adopted a secret symbol - the fish.

Often these persecuted Christians scratched the fish symbol on the ground before them to help them identify fellow believers.

The fish symbol transcends differences in cultures and denominations. From generation to generation, the fish symbolizes true followers of Jesus Christ, God's Son.

The Greek word for fish is Ichthus and the letters (Iota, Chi, Theta, Upsilon, Sigma ) form an acronym from the words Iesous Christos, Theou Uios, Soter which means Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior.

From the SECOND LINK FROM A GOOGLE SEARCH FOR \"jesus fish\".

Just...lazy.

The fish symbol is just another case of christianity absorbing other religions in order to help convert people. Turn it on it's side, and you've got a symbol used far and wide in early religions across the globe to represent fertility. Why? Because it looks like a vaginal opening.

My seven year old daughter was watching the halftime show with me. And I don't want her thinking that it's jess fine to flash planet earth as if Superbowl XXXVIII was Girls Gone Wild XXXVIII.

It was just a conversation I wasn't expecting to have with her at that moment. It's funny in retrospect, even tho it was annoying.

Speaking of that incident, here's what I read about fines:

He told the commission to open an investigation, promising it would be "thorough and swift." Such an investigation could result in a fine of up to $27,500 or -- if the FCC applied the sanction to each CBS station -- in the millions.
